Sanwo-Olu Expresses Disappointment At The Scooping Of Fuel From A Fallen Tanker In Apapa

The Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu is not happy with those who scooped fuel from a fallen tanker in Apapa on Monday. The governor expressed disappointment over the scooping of fuel dripping from a fallen tanker at Liverpool Bridge, Apapa, by some residents of the state, describing the act as reckless.

He lamented that they did not prioritise safety, as they endangered their lives during the act.

Sanwo-Olu, who commended the swift actions of first responders, including the police, for securing the area before any eventualities, warned residents to desist from such acts.

The governor also spoke on the indiscriminate dumping of refuse on the road median, Saying stiffer penalties would be served this year.

He hinted that the Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) had been directed to arrest scapegoats as a deterrent to others.

Speaking on the demolition exercise at the Makoko area of the state, Sanwo-Olu insisted that evacuation notices had been served for over two years before the demolition to those within 150 meters to 250 meters of high-tension wires.

However, he restated his commitment to the safety of lives and the safeguarding of residents’ property in the state, noting that, as a compassionate government, affected residents would be given palliatives and relocation grants as compensation.

The governor emphasised that his administration would leave no stone unturned in ensuring the safety of the lives and property of Lagos residents.

LASTMA, Fire Service Avert Fire Disaster After Tanker Accident In Apapa

The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), in collaboration with the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, has averted a potential fire outbreak following a tanker accident on the Liverpool Bridge inward Mile 2.

The incident involved an articulated Iveco tanker conveying diesel, with registration number RBC 98 XX, which reportedly lost control and overturned on the bridge. The accident resulted in extensive damage to the tanker and the spillage of large volumes of diesel on the carriageway.

The situation was further compounded as the highly flammable fuel spilled from the elevated bridge to the area below, attracting some individuals who attempted to scoop the diesel, thereby heightening the risk of an explosion or fire.

In a statement, the Director, Public Affairs and Enlightenment Department of LASTMA, Adebayo Taofiq, said operatives of the Authority swiftly responded to the emergency alert and took immediate control of the situation.

“LASTMA personnel promptly dispersed the crowd engaged in the dangerous act of scooping diesel, cordoned off the affected area, and activated emergency response protocols by alerting security agencies and the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service,” Taofiq stated.

He noted that the timely intervention of the responders effectively neutralised the imminent threat of a fire outbreak, which could have resulted in serious loss of lives, environmental damage, and destruction of public infrastructure.

Taofiq added that the tanker driver, who sustained severe injuries during the accident, was rescued by LASTMA officials and rushed to the General Hospital, Apapa, where he is currently receiving medical attention.

He further disclosed that officers of the Nigeria Police Force from Area ‘B’ Division, Apapa, provided security support at the scene, assisting with crowd control, traffic regulation, and the maintenance of order.

According to him, an alternative empty tanker was deployed to transload the remaining diesel, while LASTMA diverted traffic to the opposite carriageway to ensure public safety and the free flow of vehicles.

Commending the coordinated response, the Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Transportation, Sola Giwa, praised LASTMA and other emergency responders for their professionalism and swift action, noting that their efforts prevented what could have escalated into a major fire disaster.

Taofiq also quoted the Special Adviser as warning members of the public against scooping petroleum products during tanker accidents involving diesel or Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), describing the practice as extremely dangerous and a threat to lives and property.

The Lagos State Government, through LASTMA, reaffirmed its commitment to proactive traffic management, rapid emergency response, and the protection of lives and critical infrastructure across the state.

Davido Is Lying, We Never Carried Out Five DNA Tests - Mother And Daughter Slam Singer Over Paternity Saga

The mother and the daughter at the centre of a long-running paternity dispute involving Afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, have responded publicly to his latest denial, accusing the singer of bullying, threats and spreading false information.

Recall that Lagos Today Extra,, a couple of days ago, reported that Davido has insisted that he is not Anu’s father, alleging that five different paternity tests had been carried out on the case and they all came out negative. But in posts shared on Instagram, Anuoluwapo Mitchelle and her mother, Ayo Labinjoh, disputed Davido’s claim that he conducted five DNA tests proving he is not the girl’s father, insisting only one test was ever carried out and alleging it was fraudulent.

Reacting on her Instagram page, Anuoluwapo Mitchelle (@anuadeleke001) said she was “devastated” by Davido’s response to her earlier appeal for a DNA test.

“My dad Mr David Adeleke replied me earlier this evening. I was devastated on the way he cursed me out bullied me and threatened to lock my mother up simply because I want to establish my identity,” she wrote.

She further accused the singer of changing his account of events, saying:

“He also tweeted to the world calling my mom a ‘bitch’ he never met yet claiming he now had 5 DNA tests with me. First it was two, now it’s 5. He even said the last one was on my 10th birthday.”

According to her, only one test was done.

“According to my mom, we only went for one test which… which was fake as posted on her statement pinned on top of this page,” she added, urging the public to read her mother’s statement.

Anuoluwapo thanked Nigerians and the media for their support, adding, “My mom will post the chat later. My mother has moved on and does not appreciate these false information.”

In a separate post, Ayo Labinjoh, also rejected Davido’s comments and language, insisting she was not his “baby mama.”

“First things first, my name is Ayo Labinjoh. I’m not Davido’s baby mama or a bitch,” she wrote.

“I am very protective of my daughter’s mental health after the level of bullying she went through for years.”

She alleged her daughter “cried for days, fainted in school and went through psychotherapy,” and said the renewed controversy had deeply affected the child.

Labinjoh challenged Davido’s DNA claims, stating: “Last time it was his lawyer who brainwashed Nigerians that there were 2 tests done and I chose the hospital…”

She further alleged that the lab process was compromised and that the drawn blood was never tested.

“We wasted our time, disrupted Anu’s mental health then they lied that we did two tests, now 5 and then he’s never met me,” she wrote.

Labinjoh also accused Davido of directly harassing the child.

“David chatted my daughter tonight threatening to lock me up,” she said.

She added that she would seek international oversight if another test is to be conducted.

“David is a US citizen. I will request the US State Department to contact the Embassy in Lagos or Abuja to help us supervise and witness a clean independent DNA test,” she wrote.

The latest exchange follows earlier report in which Davido categorically denied paternity, stating on Instagram and X that he had taken “5 DNA tests, all negative,” and insisting, “I am not your father.”

The singer also said he had never had a relationship with Labinjoh outside the DNA process and described the claims as “nonsense.”

The dispute, which dates back to 2017, has once again drawn widespread public attention, with both sides maintaining sharply opposing accounts of the DNA testing and their past interactions.

No fewer than 248 passengers and 12 crew members narrowly escaped death after a Qatar Airways aircraft developed a technical fault mid-air and was forced to make an emergency landing at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos.

The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency confirmed that the aircraft, which was fully loaded with 248 passengers and 12 crew members, encountered the problem while airborne within Nigerian airspace, triggering distress alerts and an immediate emergency response.

According to a preliminary report by LASEMA, the agency said it activated the state’s emergency response plan immediately upon receiving the distress call through its 767/112 toll-free emergency lines.

Emergency landings are initiated when unplanned faults occur mid-flight. Through pilots’ distress signals to the control tower, such aircraft are guided to make a safe landing.

The report, which was signed by the Permanent Secretary of LASEMA, Dr Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, stated that, “Following distress alerts received at the Command and Control Centre in Alausa, Ikeja, the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency promptly activated the State’s Emergency Response Plans.”

The Permanent Secretary reassured the public of the agency’s readiness to respond to emergencies, noting that the swift, coordinated response helped avert what could have been a major aviation disaster.

Eyewitnesses at the airport described tense moments as emergency responders lined the runway, while passengers on board braced for an unexpected landing.

LASEMA explained that upon arrival at the scene, its Lagos Response Team discovered that the aircraft had already conducted a forced landing due to technical issues.

The report noted, “Preliminary investigations revealed that the immediate cause of the incident was technical issues suffered by the distressed aircraft.”

The agency, however, commended the pilot for his professionalism, successfully bringing the aircraft down safely while emergency teams stood by on “extreme high alert.”

“The pilot executed a safe landing on the runway at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport with LASEMA response teams and other emergency responders on standby,” the agency stated.

After landing, the aircraft was thoroughly checked by the pilot and engineering crew before being moved to the apron for detailed inspection and necessary repairs. All passengers were safely evacuated, with no injuries recorded.

“All passengers of the distressed aircraft were evacuated safely, and no casualties were reported,” LASEMA confirmed.

The agency further said that despite the frightening incident, there was no significant damage to the aircraft.

Providing an update on the situation, LASEMA disclosed that the aircraft has since been secured and recovery operations concluded.

“The aircraft has been secured on the apron, recovery activities have been completed, and the rescue operation has been safely concluded,” the statement read.

LASEMA added that emergency responders at the scene included LASEMA’s Command and Control Centre, LASAMBUS, the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, and the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria.

The spokesperson of the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority, Michael Achimugu, also confirmed the incident.

He said, “I can confirm that there was an air return. Details will be communicated later.”

Multiple-Vehicles Accident Along Ikorodu Road Leaves Driver Critically Injured

A commercial bus driver was critically injured on Sunday following a multiple-vehicles collision along the Ojota inbound Ketu axis of Ikorodu Road.

LASTMA spokesperson confirmed the incident stating that, a Toyota Sienna saloon car (KRD 311 JH), had decelerated to allow a large crowd of pedestrians to safely traverse the expressway, with a mini truck positioned immediately behind it. 

Tragically, a Volkswagen commercial bus driven at an excessive and uncontrolled speed, failed to slow down and forcefully rammed into the two stationary vehicles, precipitating a violent collision.

According to him, “The impact resulted in the Volkswagen commercial bus driver being severely trapped within the mangled wreckage, necessitating an urgent and well-coordinated emergency intervention.”

Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) operatives arrived promptly on the scene and successfully extricated the driver using specialised equipment. 

The injured driver was immediately rushed to a nearby medical facility for intensive care.

Security personnel from the Nigeria Police Force, Area ‘H’ Ogudu Division, provided crowd control and secured the accident site, ensuring the rescue operation proceeded without further incident.

The Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Transportation, Sola Giwa, while extending his deep-seated wishes for the speedy and complete recovery of the injured Volkswagen commercial bus driver.

He also commended the professionalism and swift response of LASTMA operatives, noting that their intervention prevented secondary accidents and further casualties.

Fake Naval Officer, Wife And Orderly Arrested In Oworonshoki

The Lagos State task force has arrested three impostors who unlawfully presented themselves as officers of the Nigerian Navy, thereby defrauding members of the public and obstructing lawful government operations.

The spokesperson for the agency, Raheem Gbadeyan, in a statement, stated that the suspects were apprehended by the chairman, Adetayo Akerele, following an incident linked to the demolition of illegal shanties and encroachments on government land in the Oworonshoki area of the state.

While identifying the principal suspect as one James Robert, Gbadeyan stated that the suspect had allegedly been using a false military identity to evade justice, intimidate residents, and secure undue advantages.

The statement added that the suspects were apprehended at the task force office while they were seeking the release of the vehicles removed from the demolition site.

According to Gbadeyan, the principal suspect failed to provide information about his primary military assignment and command after he was interviewed by the chairman.

The statement partly read, “The principal suspect, identified as James K. Robert, based on the name tag on his uniform and the visitor’s register he filled at the chairman’s office, had visited the office seeking the release of vehicles removed from the demolition site by the agency responsible for the exercise.

“This was after several statutory notices and repeated appeals were issued to him to evacuate his property ahead of the planned demolition, all of which he ignored.

“The suspect, accompanied by his wife and an alleged orderly, claimed ownership of the car lot at the demolition site and demanded that they be spared in the ‘spirit of esprit de corps.’”

When the chairman refused to compromise professional ethics and public service regulations, the statement noted that the fake naval captain became aggressive and issued threats of confrontation between his purported men and task force operatives.

“Suspicions were further raised when Akerele conducted a detailed interview, requesting information about the suspect’s primary military assignment and command.

“Closer observation revealed several inconsistencies, including incorrectly worn service ribbons, the absence of required regimental insignia, and an overall shabby appearance inconsistent with that of a senior naval officer. These red flags confirmed the chairman’s suspicions.”

The chairman was said to have immediately contacted the Naval Police unit of the Nigerian Navy, who verified that the individual was not a serving officer.

According to the statement, the confirmation led to the prompt arrest of the suspect and his accomplices.

Speaking on the incident, Akerele disclosed that the suspects had already been under surveillance following repeated altercations with task force officers during field operations, as well as numerous complaints from members of the public about a man posing as a Navy Captain to intimidate and coerce residents into compliance under false pretences.

The suspect’s wife was also said to have admitted that she had repeatedly warned her husband to desist from impersonating military personnel, noting that “several days are for the thief, but one day is for the owner.”

The chairman further revealed that his suspicions deepened when the suspect’s alleged orderly and other accomplices tactically withdrew from the scene shortly before the arrest.

“Before the suspects could fully comprehend what was happening, officers of the Nigerian Navy Military Police were already on the ground and took them into custody. They are currently undergoing further investigation,” Akerele stated.

He assured the public that the suspects would be prosecuted by the appropriate military authorities, expressing confidence that the arrest would serve as a strong deterrent to others who impersonate security personnel to perpetrate crimes and tarnish the image of the police and armed forces.

“I urge members of the public to remain vigilant and continue to report suspicious activities through our official feedback channels for prompt action. No criminal will be allowed to find haven in Lagos State,” he further stated.

How 103-Year Old Woman Lost Her Life In A Fire Incident At Oyingbo

A fire outbreak at a residential building on Bola Street, Oyingbo has claimed the life of a 103-year-old woman and destroyed several household properties.

According to a statement by the Permanent Secretary of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, the agency received a distress call about the fire outbreak at about 12pm on Friday.

Oke-Osanyintolu noted that upon arrival at the scene, it was discovered that a bungalow with shops attached had been engulfed in flames.

He stated that emergency management procedures were immediately activated at the scene, but after an assessment, the centenarian woman had died.

He said, “Upon the arrival of the LRT at the incident scene by 12:13 hours, it was observed that a residential bungalow with two shops attached was engulfed by fire at the aforementioned location.

“The fire reportedly started in a room before spreading to other rooms within the building. However, the cause of the fire had yet to be ascertained as of the time of filing this report.

“Unfortunately, one life—a 103-year-old centenarian (name withheld)—was lost to the incident.”

The permanent secretary also noted that eight rooms, a mini flat, six shops, and several household properties were affected by the fire.

“The recovered body has been handed over to the family for necessary action. The fire has been completely extinguished.

“The Agency’s LRT and LASEMA Fire Unit, in collaboration with other responders, successfully curtailed and contained the fire. Dampening down has been concluded, while rescue and recovery operations have also been concluded,” he added.

Traffic To Be Diverted For 18 Weeks For Mazamaza Bridge Repair Works - Transport Commissioner

The Lagos State Government has released a traffic diversion plan ahead of maintenance works on the expansion joints and bridge elements of Mazamaza Bridge along the Lagos–Badagry carriageway.

The Lagos State Commissioner for Transportation, Mr Oluwaseun Osiyemi, announced the traffic plan in a statement.

Osiyemi said the maintenance work, which would be on both the service lane and toll lane (both inbound and outbound) would commence from Monday, Jan. 19, to Thursday, May 28 (18 weeks).

Assuring motorists of adequate traffic management during the rehabilitation work, he said that at no stage would the bridge be fully closed.

“Instead, traffic will be managed through strategic diversions between the toll lane, BRT lane, and service lane.

“The rehabilitation works will be done in phases with the preliminary phase expected to commence from Saturday, Jan. 24 to Friday, Jan. 30 (one week).

“Phases one to four expected to cover the entire stretch of Mazamaza Bridge on both service and toll lane (inbound Badagry) is from Saturday, Jan. 31 to Monday, March 30 (eight weeks).

“Phases five to eight expected to cover the stretch of Mazamaza Bridge on both service and toll lane (inbound Lagos), is expected to commence from Tuesday, March 31 to Tuesday, June 2 (nine weeks),” he said.

Osiyemi noted that in view of the above, Mazamaza Bridge—on both the inbound and outbound Lagos-Badagry Carriageway—would be temporarily and partially closed to traffic during ongoing repairs.

He said that traffic would be redirected along the designated diversion routes.

Osiyemi said for phases one and two: Badagry bound traffic (repair on the toll lane), during ongoing construction all traffic would be temporarily redirected to the BRT corridor.

“Motorists will exit the BRT corridor and rejoin the toll lane 50 metres past the work zone to continue their journey.

“During construction on the BRT corridor, vehicles will be redirected to the toll lane, and regain access back to the BRT corridor 50m away from the proposed working area to continue their journeys,” he said.

For Phases three and four: Badagry bound traffic (repair on the service lane), he said vehicular traffic would continue through but, as vehicles approached the planned work zone on Mazamaza Bridge, they would be redirected to one of the two available lanes.

Osiyemi added that they would regain full access to the road after the proposed work zone to continue their journeys.

He said after finishing maintenance on the expansion joint of Mazamaza Bridge heading towards Badagry, the work would move to the opposite side of the bridge, this time for the lane coming into Lagos.

The commissioner said that during phases five and six of the project, Lagos-bound traffic would be diverted to the BRT corridor while repairs are carried out on the toll lane

“Vehicles will exit via the BRT Corridor and rejoin the toll lane 50 meters past the construction site to continue their journey.

“During BRT corridor construction, traffic will be rerouted onto the toll lane, and motorists will regain access back to the BRT corridor 50m away from the proposed working area to continue their journey,” he said.

He noted that during phases seven and eight, while repair work is carried out on the Lagos-bound service lane, vehicles would still be able to move, but traffic approaching the work zone on Mazamaza Bridge would be reduced from two lanes to one

Outrage As 9-Month Twins Die After Immunization At Ajangbadi Primary Health Centre In Ojo

The deaths of 9-month identical twin brothers, Testimony and Timothy, less than 24 hours after receiving routine vaccines  in a Lagos health facility, has sparked outrage   as questions are now being raised about immunization procedures at the Lagos primary health centre where the immunization took place.  

The father of the twins, Samuel Alozie, also known as Promise Samuel on TikTok, said his sons, Testimony and Timothy, were taken for immunisation at the Ajangbadi Primary Health Centre in Ojo Local Government Area on the morning of 24 December 2025. He claimed the twins became weak shortly after the injections and died the following morning, on Christmas Day.

The case gained public attention after Alozie posted a video online showing the bodies of the twins in separate body bags. In a subsequent video, he gave his account of events leading to their deaths.

“It happened that the immunisation was conducted on the 24th of December, in the morning. And on the morning of 25th December, they died,” he said. “On that 24th, after the injection, they were very weak, and I gave them paracetamol because the nurse said that if the temperature continued, I should give them paracetamol.”

He said the medication did not improve their condition. “The drug weakened two of them to the extent they can’t talk, they can’t eat, they can’t play as usual,” he added.

Alozie accused health workers at the facility of administering expired, fake or excessive doses of vaccines and alleged that deworming tablets were given to the infants without his consent. “Before you go for immunisation, try to know what they are giving to your child, because I guess maybe this is an overdose, or it is fake drugs,” he said.

He also questioned the presence of a nurse unfamiliar to him on the day of the immunisation. “The woman that have been giving us injections is not the woman who gave us the injection that day. Another face,” he said.

The father rejected claims allegedly made by the health centre that the deaths were caused by food-related bacteria. “She said that it is food bacteria that killed my children. How can food bacteria kill a child?” he asked.

While the Lagos State Ministry of Health and the Lagos State Primary Health Care Board have not issued an official statement on the incident, Alozie said an autopsy had been conducted but expressed concern about the credibility of the findings.

“I’m scared. The reason I’m scared is that I don’t know if this government will give me the actual justice because, you know, this is government-to-government,” he said. “I know that they will manipulate this result.”

He appealed for legal and public support, saying he lacked the financial means to pursue the case alone. “Please, if you’re a lawyer, a human rights lawyer, please help me. I don’t have a lawyer,” he said. “People should help me. I need justice for these children.”

The case has sparked public debate on vaccine safety, consent and accountability within public health facilities, with calls for an independent investigation into the circumstances surrounding the deaths.

MFM Lekki Delivers Projects And Infrastructure Facilities To Itedo Community And Environs

Tent Maker Pastoral Ministry (TMPM) of Region 1, Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM), Lekki, Lagos has provided various projects to the Itedo Community and its environs.

The humanitarian services, which are part of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) of the church, included the construction of an access road spanning from Freedom Way to Salvation Road in Itedo, grading of internal roads in Itedo and provision of a borehole.

The church has also trained over 50 people free in various skills, as well as given them starter packs.

The skills include fashion designing, bakery, pastries, and barbing to make beneficiaries self-reliant.

Part of the CSR of the church includes free feeding of the people every Sunday, especially the less-privileged, and homeless as well as ‘area boys’ .

Also, TMPM Region 1 gives scholarships to indigent but brilliant students.

It engages in free medical outreaches as well as pay medical bills, including surgeries bills for members of the host communities, especially the downtrodden that are not members of the church.

Regional Overseer and Pastor, MFM TMPM 1, Lekki, Pastor Sola Oladipo, said the services are to fulfil God’s instructions to give and to take care of the less-privileged.

Oladipo said apart from the Biblical teachings and deliverance programmes, the church embarked on social interventions, and welfare programmes to give hope to the hopeless.

The Regional Overseer added that the initiative was part of the church’s broader Explosive Evangelism Initiative (EEI) aimed at winning more souls for Christ through acts of kindness.

He stressed that welfare and community development are central to the mission of MFM.

He commended the General Overseer of MFM, Dr. Daniel Kolawole Olukoya, and his wife, whom he described as philanthropists and have mandated the branches globally to invest in CSR alongside their spiritual activities.

Nigeria today is battling a deep and persistent security crisis. From kidnapping and banditry to terrorism and violent crimes, insecurity has gradually become part of everyday life. Citizens now live in fear, uncertain of their safety whether at home, on the road, in schools, or even in places meant to provide protection and learning. This growing insecurity reflects years of weak security coordination, poor intelligence gathering, and inadequate protection of vulnerable populations.

The failure of security in Nigeria is no longer limited to isolated areas or particular groups. It cuts across states, institutions, and social classes. Schools, which should be safe environments for learning and personal development, have become targets of criminal activities. Students are abducted, teachers are attacked, and communities are left traumatized. This situation has damaged public confidence in the ability of the state to protect lives and property.

Against this troubling background, the recent kidnap of Muhammad Abdullahi, a blind student of the Katsina School for the Blind, is especially heartbreaking. That a child with visual impairment was abducted while simply trying to access education shows how deep the security failure has become. If a blind student is no longer safe on his way to school, it raises serious questions about who is truly protected in this country.

This incident exposes the harsh reality that insecurity affects people differently. While all Nigerians suffer from insecurity, persons with disabilities face greater risks. A blind student relies on routine, assistance, and familiar environments to move safely. When these fragile safety structures collapse, such individuals are left extremely vulnerable. Criminals exploit this weakness, knowing that victims may find it difficult to escape or seek help.

As a student of the University of Benin, I am deeply disturbed by this incident. Even within Nigerian universities, there is limited assistance and institutional support for students with disabilities. Many rely on personal effort, goodwill from fellow students, or informal arrangements to survive academic life. When insecurity spreads into educational spaces, these students are the first to suffer the consequences.

Beyond security failure, this situation reflects a broader neglect of disability issues in Nigeria. Although policies and laws exist to protect persons with disabilities, implementation remains weak. Disability-inclusive security planning is rarely considered, and emergency response systems do not adequately account for the unique needs of vulnerable groups.

The kidnap of Muhammad Abdullahi should not be treated as just another tragic headline. It should serve as a wake-up call for government at all levels, security agencies, school authorities, and community leaders. Protecting the vulnerable is not optional; it is a moral and constitutional responsibility.

Nigeria must urgently strengthen its security architecture, particularly around schools, and adopt inclusive measures that consider the safety of persons with disabilities. Failure to act decisively sends a dangerous message that the lives of the most vulnerable can be ignored.

Until meaningful reforms are implemented, incidents like this will continue to expose a painful truth: Nigeria’s security crisis does not just threaten lives—it strips the most vulnerable of their dignity, safety, and hope.

"I'm Not Anu's Father", Davido Insists, Threatens Legal Actions Against Mother Of Teenage Girl

Grammy-nominated singer, Davido, has denied paternity of a teenage girl, Anu, who claims he is her father.

In a statement on social media, Davido rejected Anu’s claims and accused her mother of being an “obsessed fan” who is manipulating her daughter.

Anu posted a message on Instagram requesting a DNA test to establish her identity.

She shared her struggles with bullying and mental anguish, saying classmates mocked her claims of being Davido’s daughter.

Anu wrote: “This year I become a teenager. My mom and grandma have always educated me on being a responsible teen. No drugs, alcohol, bad company and bad behavior. Today I drafted a letter I wrote from the depth of my heart not with help from my relatives.

“As I grow older I want to establish my identity. I was bullied in school since I was 6-year-old and cried home daily. Other students laughed at me when I told them my father was Mr David Adeleke. I went through a lot of mental anguish and visited a medical professional to protect my mental health. It was a sad challenging time in my life.

“This page was not online for 5 years as my mom never updated this account since it was handed over to us. We went through a lot. Despite the challenges, I still excelled to the top of the class and became the class prefect. We posted some of my report cards on this page. Now that I’m in secondary school and still excelling in my studies, I don’t talk about my family history anymore.

“However on that note as I transition into a young woman, I am respectfully asking Mr David Adeleke Singer @davido for a DNA test to establish my identity. This test is between my dad and I. It is something I want. It is something that’s the right thing to do. Please sir, consider my request once you read this post. I also sent it to your DM.

“Thank you to all Nigerians who have given me emotional support for the last 7 years. This DNA test is the right thing to do for me.”

However, Davido said he has already undergone five DNA tests, all of which were negative, and challenged Anu’s claims.

The singer expressed frustration and disappointment, saying he’s chosen three hospitals for the tests, and Anu’s team chose two, all with the same negative result.

“I’VE TAKEN 5 DNA TESTS ALL NEGATIVE I AM NOT YOUR FATHER … NEVER EVEN MET UR MOM .. SHES AN OBSESSED FAN LYING TO YOU … THIS NEEDS TO STOP I ACTUALLY HAVE CHILDREN .. STOP THIS NONSENSE. Yes I chose 3 hospitals and they chose their own two hospitals .. all came out Negative .. “

Davido threatened to take action against Anu’s mother, saying she needs to be held accountable.

“This is the last time I’m speaking on this nonsense. Never met the bitch … except when went For the DNA … very stupid behavior I will soon treat their FK … 5 fucking hospitals just to be clear .. the mom needs to go to jail … I don’t blame the poor girl ..”, he added.
