Why I Can Never Marry A Nigerian - DJ Coppi

Nigerian disc jockey and media personality Florence Ifeoluwa Otedola, popularly known as DJ Cuppy, has opened up on why she cannot marry a Nigerian.

While speaking during a recent discussion, Cuppy explained that her decision stems from her previous experience with an individual who was more interested in meeting her father than building a genuine relationship with her.

She stressed that the experience often makes her question the intentions of some men who approached her.

“I can never marry a Nigerian. It’s impossible. The last one I dated was asking me when he could meet my dad. I didn’t even think they liked me. My dad doesn’t even care who I marry; he just wants me to get married and that’s why I’m so happy for Temi and Eazi,” she stated.

DJ Cuppy has always maintained that she views marriage as a powerful spiritual covenant and life partnership rather than an outdated institution. She has strongly advocated for waiting for the right person instead of rushing into marriage due to societal pressure, and she actively seeks a low-key, genuine connection over status or wealth.

Following her sister Temi’s wedding, she expressed that marriage isn't outdated but rather a union that pulls couples closer to their purpose and builds love and legacy when done with the right person.

How Daniel Etim Reacted When I Went Naked Before Him On The Set Of 'Blood Sisters 2' Movie – Nollywood Star Actress, Kate Henshaw

Nollywood star actress Kate Henshaw has opened up on what happened while filming a bedroom scene with actor Daniel Etim Effiong in Blood Sisters Season 2.

The veteran actress, during a recent interview with Chude Jideonwo, said the scene required openness, trust and professionalism between both actors.

Henshaw revealed that she had a conversation with Daniel before the scene to know how comfortable he was with the role.

“I had a conversation with Daniel about the sex scene, ‘How far are you comfortable?’ And he said, ‘Sis, no problem,’” she said.

The actress disclosed that she was topless during the shoot, but praised Daniel for conducting himself maturely.

“I was bare up with him. At no point did Daniel get an erection, he’s a good boy,” she added.

Henshaw said intimate scenes in movies are not as easy as some viewers may think, as they require respect, consent and discipline from the actors involved.

Her comment has since sparked reactions among Nollywood fans, with many praising Daniel for his professionalism and Henshaw for speaking openly about the realities of acting such scenes.

The actress is one of the cast members of Blood Sisters Season 2, the sequel to the hit Netflix crime thriller.

Henshaw had earlier made headlines after speaking about her relationship with fellow Nollywood star Genevieve Nnaji.

In a recent podcast interview, she said her friendship with Genevieve gradually faded, though she could not clearly explain what led to the distance between them.

“We grew apart. Maybe she had some kind of mistrust about me… I don’t know what happened. I don’t know what came over her,” she said.

The 53-year-old actress also recently stirred debate after commenting on surrogacy in Nigeria, questioning why some healthy women choose the option when there is no medical need for it.

Kate Henshaw is currently divorced and single. She was previously married to British-born Roderick James Nuttal. The couple tied the knot in 1999 and had one daughter together. After 12 years of marriage, they divorced in 2011. Since her divorce, she has remained unmarried and has openly spoken about moving on and building her career.

Most Men Only Want To Penetrate Rather Than Have A Relationship — Tems

Grammy-winning Nigerian singer Tems has shared candid thoughts on modern relationships, saying many men approach women with intentions that are primarily sexual rather than emotional.

Speaking during an episode of Flow With Korty, the singer reflected on her experiences with love and dating when asked whether she had ever been in love.

According to Tems, many men make their intentions obvious from the outset.

“A lot of guys, they are very obvious. There is no agenda but to penetrate,” she said.

The remark sparked conversations on social media, with fans and commentators debating her assessment of contemporary dating and relationships.

Beyond discussing romance, Tems also opened up about her childhood experiences, revealing that she was often misunderstood because of her reserved personality.

She recalled being bullied while growing up due to her quiet nature and the way she expressed herself.

Tems is a highly acclaimed Nigerian singer, songwriter, and record producer who defined modern alternative Afrobeats and R&B. Quitting her digital marketing job in 2018, she quickly rose from an independent, self-taught bedroom producer to a global music icon, winning a Grammy and earning Oscar and Golden Globe nominations.

Tems is currently single and prefers to keep her private life out of the public eye. While there have been frequent rumors surrounding her dating life—including speculations about British rapper Dave—she has never publicly confirmed a romantic relationship.

How Over Five Celebrities' Phones Were Stolen At Alex Ekubo's Service Of Songs In Lagos

Nollywood actor Stan Nze has condemned the reported theft of several mobile phones during the service of songs held in honour of late actor Alexx Ekubo, saying the incident reflects a deeper crisis of values among Nigerians.

The Nigerian entertainment industry gathered on Wednesday to pay tribute to Ekubo, who died on May 11, 2026, after a battle with kidney cancer. However, reports of missing phones at the event sparked controversy on social media, with some attendees confirming that their devices were stolen.

Speaking in a video posted after the ceremony on Thursday, Nze, who hosted the event, revealed that more than five phones were reported missing.

“I hosted my dear friend’s, my brother’s service of song last night, and it was one of the hardest things to do, but what I want to address is the fact that at that service of songs, over five phones went missing, and this I’m saying five phones because I don’t want to exaggerate,” he said.

The actor said he personally knew some of the victims, including Nollywood actress Susan Peters. Reality TV star Bamike Olawunmi-Adenibuyan, popularly known as BamBam, also confirmed that her phone was stolen. According to her, a friend and another man in her group lost their phones as well, bringing the number of missing devices linked to her group to at least three.

Nze said the situation became so alarming that organisers had to temporarily prevent guests from leaving the venue while efforts were made to locate the missing phones.

Expressing disbelief over the incident, he questioned how individuals could steal from people gathered to mourn a deceased colleague.

“It just got me thinking, how do you come to a place where people are mourning, where people are grieving and you steal from them? Okay, let’s even leave God aside, what has happened to our conscience as a people?” he said.

While acknowledging frequent complaints about insecurity, killings and poor governance in the country, the actor argued that Nigerians must also confront personal and societal shortcomings.

“At a point, they had to block the gate that people would not leave until they found the phones. Oh God, the government is not our problem. I don’t think government is our problem. Even if we chase everybody in government now out, who will lead? Who will do the job?” he said.

Nze further maintained that meaningful change cannot be achieved through government policies alone if citizens fail to uphold honesty, kindness and accountability in their daily lives. He lamented that some people condemn leaders while engaging in unethical behaviour themselves.

“You’re saying the government is bad, but you are wicked. You’re not kind, not with your words, not with giving, not with sympathy. We’re not kind people. I feel this is the height of it. Where people are mourning, you come to steal from them, add more sorrow to them.”

Calling on Nigerians to take responsibility for their actions and speak up against wrongdoing, the actor urged citizens to look out for one another and uphold values that promote compassion and integrity.

The reported thefts have continued to generate reactions online, with the incident drawing attention to concerns about security at public gatherings and reigniting debate over the role of individual conduct in addressing broader societal challenges.

Women Criticise Me Online But Chase Me In Real Life — Popular Social Media Personality, GehGeh

Social media personality and self-acclaimed financial expert, Ojaigho Prosper, popularly known as GehGeh, has said that women who criticise him online often behave differently when they meet him in real life, stating that he receives more attention from women offline than men.

Speaking in a recent media interview, GehGeh reflected on his rise to social media fame, stating that his journey began with a desire to share real-life financial lessons rather than chase online popularity.

He said, “I was simply coming from a place where I wanted to share my experiences because I felt I had enough knowledge and life experiences to share with people.”

He recalled that one of his earliest viral videos focused on why renting an apartment could, in some cases, be better than building a house, a perspective he said resonated with many viewers. According to him, the video gained wider attention after it was reposted by music executive, Don Jazzy.

Geh Geh said his rise to fame came as a surprise, adding that he only realised the scale of his influence when strangers began approaching him in public to share how his content impacted their lives.

However, his views on relationships and masculinity have often sparked criticism online, with some accusing him of promoting misogynistic ideas. He dismissed the label, insisting that the backlash is often rooted in insecurity.

“I have noticed that women don’t like my advice online because many of them feel that if their husbands or boyfriends watch my videos, they may stop giving them money the way they used to,” he said.

He, however, maintained that his offline experiences tell a different story.

“When women see me in real life, they approach me more than men do. The way they react to me online and in person are two completely opposite things,” he added.

Geh Geh also defended his stance on financial discipline in relationships, explaining that his content originally focused on personal finance before evolving into relationship commentary.

“I realised that a lot of the financial problems men face come from investing in relationships and partners they shouldn’t be investing in,” he said.

Addressing questions about his personal life, he confirmed that he has had multiple relationships, adding that his cultural background permits polygamy.

He also responded to public criticism over his sister’s recent claim that he does not support her financially, insisting that his philosophy on self-reliance applies equally to family members.

“I recently transferred N5m to her,” he said, adding that both of them share the same upbringing and opportunities.

On trending conversations surrounding celebrity relationships, Geh Geh criticised the engagement between fellow content creators, Peller and Jarvis, describing it as unsustainable.

“I swear, it pained me. The boy is constantly performing,” he said, arguing that young relationships built on public attention often struggle in the long term.

I Have Been Remanded In Kirikiri Correctional Center - Blessing CEO

Social media influencer and self-styled relationship therapist, Okoro Blessing Nkiruka, popularly known as Blessing CEO, has disclosed that she has been remanded at the Kirikiri Correctional Centre in Lagos following her arraignment by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Blessing CEO made the disclosure in a post on her Facebook page on Wednesday, shortly after appearing before the Federal High Court in Ikoyi, Lagos.

According to her, she pleaded not guilty to charges filed against her after spending 26 days in EFCC custody.

“I have now been remanded in Kirikiri Correctional Center pending when I perfect my bail,” she wrote, adding that she remained in high spirits despite the development.

The influencer said some of the allegations against her stemmed from tenancy-related disputes involving sums of N36 million and N69 million, maintaining that she did not sell any houses through her office.

She also referenced another case involving donations allegedly made after claims that she was battling cancer, insisting she would provide details after the legal proceedings had been concluded.

Blessing CEO noted that this was the second time she would be remanded at the correctional facility, recalling that she was previously detained in 2022 over allegations relating to defamation and cyberbullying.

Despite her legal challenges, she expressed optimism that the situation would ultimately work in her favour, thanking supporters for standing by her and urging them to keep her in their prayers.

Meanwhile, the EFCC on Wednesday announced that it had again arraigned Blessing CEO before Justice Yelim Bogoro of the Federal High Court, Ikoyi, Lagos, over an alleged N13 million fraud.

According to the anti-graft agency, the defendant was arraigned on a fresh six-count charge bordering on obtaining money by false pretence and retaining proceeds allegedly linked to fraudulent activities.

The EFCC said the charges followed petitions from individuals and groups, including the Nigeria Cancer Society.

The commission alleged that some members of the public made donations to Blessing CEO after social media posts in which she claimed to be battling Stage 4 breast cancer and sought financial assistance for treatment.

The agency further alleged that investigations later revealed that documents she presented in support of the claim were falsified.

Blessing CEO pleaded not guilty to the charges, while the court ordered her remand pending the perfection of her bail conditions. The case was subsequently adjourned for further proceedings.

Many Celebrities Have More Influence Than Politicians - Charly Boy, Set To Release Book About His Life

Veteran entertainer and activist, Charly Boy, has called on musicians and other public figures to use their platforms to address societal issues, insisting that entertainers have a responsibility to reflect the realities of the communities they serve.

Speaking ahead of the July 2026 release of his memoir, ‘999’, Charly Boy argued that many celebrities possess greater influence than politicians and should not shy away from speaking on issues affecting ordinary Nigerians.

According to him, artistes can play a significant role in shaping public discourse through their music and public engagements.

“They can do more. They have larger platforms than politicians. It won’t hurt them to speak up or make music that reflects reality,” he said.

The entertainer expressed concern about the state of the nation, particularly the growing insecurity across the country. He warned that the situation could worsen if urgent steps are not taken to address the underlying problems.

“It’s going to explode in our faces,” he said.

Charly Boy also pointed to what he described as the erosion of family values as one of the factors contributing to Nigeria’s social challenges. He argued that economic hardship has placed immense pressure on families, with some parents encouraging their children to pursue questionable means of making money.

He further criticised traditional parenting approaches, noting that methods that worked for previous generations may no longer be effective in raising Gen Z and millennial children.

Despite his concerns, the activist expressed optimism about Nigeria’s future, saying the country’s hopes lie with exceptional young people who are willing to create opportunities for themselves rather than wait for them.

He also praised the emergence of a new generation of activists and social commentators who are increasingly using their voices to advocate for change.

Beyond his views on society and governance, Charly Boy described his forthcoming memoir as a deeply personal account of his life. He said the title symbolises transformation, renewal and the beginning of a new chapter.

The entertainer explained that while many people still associate him with his biker persona, he has evolved into a phase focused on storytelling, reflection and legacy.

Promising readers an unfiltered account of his journey, Charly Boy said the memoir would contain “the good, the bad and the ugly”, adding that too many people go through life without ever telling their complete stories.

Reflecting on his past, he admitted that he was rebellious and “irresponsible” in his younger years but maintained that he never lost sight of his goals, even when he found himself at odds with his father over the course of his life.

How Scan Detected My Baby Had No Nose – Gospel Singer Judikay Opens Up On Pregnancy Scare

Gospel artist Judikay has shared details of a distressing medical experience she had while 34 weeks pregnant with her second child in Canada.

The singer, whose real name is Judith Kanayo-Opara, said a routine ultrasound led to alarming claims about her unborn daughter.

During her daughter’s dedication service, she recounted that the sonographer told her the baby was not breathing, had no nose, and recommended a Down syndrome test.

She said she called her husband, who told her to “tear the report” and not proceed with further tests.

In her words: “At 34 weeks, I traveled to Canada to have my baby, and I went for a scan. They said she did not have a nose and that I would need to do a Down syndrome test, and also that she was not breathing. I called my husband, and he said I should tear the report and that we were not going to do any test.”

The couple chose to pray and thank God for their child instead and Judikay said her daughter was eventually delivered safely, though doctors found the umbilical cord had been wrapped around the baby’s neck twice in the womb.

The singer, who waited several years to welcome her second child with her husband, shared the testimony to reflect on the challenges she faced during pregnancy.

Judikay is a prominent gospel artist, songwriter, and music minister. Known for her soul-stirring worship, her career highlights include major hits like "More than Gold" and "Capable God," two albums (Man of Galilee and From this Heart), and millions of streams across global platforms.

You Don’t Need To Expose Your Boobs To Be Sexy — Nollywood Star Actress Shaffy Bello

Nollywood star actress Shaffy Bello has said she understands why some young women engage in transactional relationships popularly known as “runs,” but urged them not to remain in the lifestyle, stressing the need for growth and self-worth beyond survival choices.

Bello made the remarks during an interview on The Morayo Show hosted by Morayo Afolabi-Brown, a conversation that has since gone viral on social media.

Speaking on self-worth and the pressures many young women face, Bello said women do not need to expose their bodies or chase online attention to be seen as attractive or successful.

She said, “There are too many children out there, too many babies my age younger that needs my voice that needs to hear that the seeds that you sow matter.

“That needs to hear, ‘No, you don’t have to show your boobs to be sexy.’

“That needs to hear, ‘No, you don’t have to shake your bum bum to go viral or get attention.’”

The actress also addressed women who turn to transactional relationships to survive, saying she understood the realities behind such decisions and was not speaking from a place of judgement.

“And if what you’re doing now is being a runs girl to make money, you don’t have to stay there. I understand it. I’m not knocking you. I never judge,” she said.

Bello added that some women were pushed into such choices by financial responsibilities, including supporting family members and paying school fees.

“If that’s what you have to do right now… some girls are doing it because they need to feed mum, they need to send their aburo to school. I understand it.

“However, my darlings, don’t stay there. You are more than that,” she added.

Reflecting on her career, Bello said she remains focused on acting because she believes it is her calling.

“I’m an actor. Every actor doesn’t have to be a producer. I face my lane. I do what God asked me to do,” she said.

She also noted that while some industry players diversify into production for financial reasons, she prioritises purpose over profit.

What I Expect From You Is More Than Romance - Actress Jessica Larny Writes Open Letter To Her Future Husband

Actress Jessica Larny has touched hearts with a deeply personal message addressed to her future husband, offering a glimpse into her hopes for love, companionship and a lasting relationship.

In the emotional note shared recently, the actress expressed her desire to meet a man whose presence embodies peace, wisdom and sincerity.

“I don’t know where you are right now or what path life is taking you through, but I hope you are becoming the kind of man whose presence feels like peace,” she wrote. “I pray your heart stays soft, your mind stays wise, and your intentions stay pure.”

The actress said she could not promise perfection when they eventually meet, but pledged honesty, loyalty, laughter and unwavering commitment, even during difficult moments.

“I hope we build something deeper than appearances — a friendship, a safe place and a home within each other,” she added.

Larny also expressed her desire for a relationship that thrives beyond the excitement of romance, one where both partners continue to support each other’s ambitions and nurture their bond through life’s challenges.

“Until then, I’m growing too: learning, healing, evolving and preparing myself for the kind of love that lasts. Whoever you are, I hope you find me at the right time,” she wrote.

Beyond matters of the heart, the outspoken actress has also used her platform to address challenges facing young women in the film industry, particularly the issue of sexual exploitation and quid pro quo demands.

Speaking with Potpourri, Larny urged aspiring actresses not to succumb to pressure from individuals who attempt to exchange opportunities for personal favors.

“I went through that countless times because some people assume you are desperate for fame or unaware of how the industry works,” she said. “If a role is meant for you, there will be no quid pro quo attached to it. Focus on your craft, deliver your best performance and move on.”

According to her, every role matters, regardless of its size, stressing that a well-executed performance can leave a lasting impression on audiences.

Larny further encouraged women to remain focused on their career goals and avoid shortcuts that could compromise their values.

“When women understand their purpose and stay committed to their dreams, some people may try to create shortcuts for them. But talents are the foundation of this industry. Producers, directors and actors all have important roles to play, and everyone should be mindful of actions that undermine professionalism,” she said.

Born Jessica Naa Nuerkie Larnyoh, the actress later shortened her professional name to Jessica Larny after repeatedly encountering difficulties with producers and editors who struggled to spell her full name correctly. Today, she continues to build her profile as both a performer and an advocate for professionalism and integrity within the entertainment industry.

The Ghanaian actress has featured in many Nollywood movies and has a strong fans base in Nigeria, especially in the city of Lagos.

You Cannot Stop Bad Roads, Banditry By Merely Praying - Nollywood Actress Njoku Tells Christians

Nollywood actress and producer, Mary Remmy Njoku, has urged Christians to complement prayer with practical action in addressing societal challenges, saying issues such as poor roads, insecurity and failing healthcare systems cannot be solved through prayers alone.

The actress made the remarks in a post shared on her Instagram page on Wednesday, where she stressed the need for accountability, planning and hard work alongside faith.

According to her, while prayer remains important for guidance, strength and wisdom, physical problems require practical solutions.

She wrote, “Dear African Christians, as we continue to pray, let us not confuse prayer with action. You cannot bind and cast away bad roads. You cannot rebuke a failing healthcare system into working. You cannot pray away the bandits who are terrorising our lives.

“Physical problems require physical solutions. Spiritual problems require spiritual problems.”

Njoku argued that food does not appear on a plate through prayer alone, noting that someone must still cultivate, harvest, transport or prepare it.

“You cannot pray food onto your plate, someone has to plant it, harvest it, transport it, cook it, or provide the means for you to get it yourself. Even in the bible, provision often came through people, work, and practical action,” she added.

She further stated that critical areas such as infrastructure, healthcare, education, security and economic development require deliberate efforts from leaders and citizens.

“Good roads, quality healthcare, education, security and economic growth will not appear simply because we pray about them.

“Prayer can guide us, strengthen us, and give us wisdom, but physical problems must also be addressed with physical action, planning, accountability, and hardwork,” she said.

Only Weak Men Rely On Money To Woo Women — Grand Tycoon

Spoken word artist, poet, author, and journalist Tofarati Ige, popularly known as Grand Tycoon, says men who depend only on money to attract women lack confidence and substance.

In a recent chat, the creative argued that while financial stability matters, it should not be the main tool for winning a woman’s heart. He said self-confidence, charisma, and what he calls “steeze” are more powerful.

“As a man, you should have a sweet approach, using the right words to grab a woman’s attention. Real women want to be wooed. They want you to say sweet things and blow their minds,” he said.

Grand Tycoon said courtship should be intentional and thoughtful, not transactional. He stressed that women value emotional intelligence, creativity, and genuine effort over flashy displays of wealth.

“Money is part of life; nobody is denying that. But if that’s all you have to offer, then you need to work on yourself. Presence, confidence, and how you carry yourself matter a lot. Some men think throwing money around is the shortcut, but real connection goes beyond that,” he added.

Known for weaving social commentary into his performances, he noted that modern dating has become overly materialistic, with many young men feeling pressured to prove their worth financially before building a connection.

He urged men to develop their personality, communication skills, and self-worth, saying attraction built on authenticity lasts longer than one built on spending power.

The creative also advised women to look beyond material gestures when choosing partners. “Meaningful relationships thrive on mutual respect, understanding, and emotional depth,” he said.

Through his comments, Grand Tycoon once again blended lifestyle insight with the thought-provoking perspective that defines his art.

Please Forgive Me Over my Comments On Oyo School Children Abduction - Gospel Singer Yinka Alaseyori

Gospel singer Yinka Alaseyori has apologised to Nigerians who felt offended by her recent comments on the abduction of pupils and teachers in Oyo State.

In a video shared on Instagram Wednesday, the singer expressed regret over the backlash that followed her earlier remarks, saying she never intended to make anyone feel unheard or dismissed.

According to Alaseyori, she discovered that many Nigerians were unhappy with her comments and felt that their concerns over the plight of the abducted victims were not being taken seriously.

“I did a video two days ago about the kidnapped children, touching on government, parastatals and every agency. But when I woke up yesterday, I found out that some well-meaning Nigerians were not happy about it, as I made them feel their voices are unheard,” she said.

The singer pleaded for forgiveness, particularly from mothers and families affected by the incident, insisting that she would never deliberately disregard their pain.

“You know me too well that I would never make you feel like that. Mothers, do not be offended. I am sorry. I beg in God’s name. Please, forgive me. I would never think like that. Pardon and forgive me,” she added.

Alaseyori had earlier said that Nigerians need to keep praying over recent insecurity issues, stressing that the government is doing all it can to ensure that peace is restored.

The kidnapping of pupils and teachers in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State has continued to generate concern among Nigerians, with many calling for intensified efforts to secure the release of the victims.

Gospel Singer Yinka Alaseyori Under Fire For Recommending Prayer As Solution For Oyo Abduction

Gospel singer Yinka Alaseyori has come under criticism on social media after suggesting that prayers are key to securing the release of students and teachers abducted in Oyo State.

The singer sparked controversy in a viral video where she defended President Bola Tinubu and security agencies amid growing concerns over insecurity in the country.

According to Alaseyori, Nigerians should not allow themselves to be used for political purposes, insisting that the president, vice president and security personnel are doing their best to rescue the victims.

“You cannot say that the president and vice president are not doing what they are supposed to do. They are working,” she said.

“We all need prayers, from the president to the last person. Those children there are our children, my children. Even security personnel could have proceeded to save the children but could have been prevented by a spiritual darkness. So, that is where prayers come into play,” she added.

Her remarks quickly triggered backlash online, with many Nigerians arguing that insecurity requires decisive government action rather than religious appeals.

A user identified as @chidozic40637 criticised the comment, saying, “For how long are we going to continue to pray instead of taking full responsibility for what is happening in our society?”

Another user, @OmoniyiShola5, acknowledged the importance of faith but argued that Nigeria’s security crisis is largely man-made.

“Prayer works but there are some things we don’t have to disturb God for. What is happening in Nigeria right now is man made and a sensible government that is transparent should be able to solve it,” the user wrote.

Similarly, @ChidiUkaonu questioned the level of effort being made by authorities, noting that Nigerians want tangible results rather than assurances.

“What do you call prayer without work? How much of work has been done? Nigerians want to see results,” the comment read.

Echoing similar sentiments, @Fashrules argued that countries that introduced Christianity and Islam to Africa tackle security challenges through swift action instead of relying solely on prayers.

“The people that exported the Abrahamic faiths to us don’t do reach us. They face their security challenges head-on by acting swiftly and ruthlessly within their capacities,” the user said.

Another commenter, @til_theng, lamented what they described as an excessive dependence on prayer in Nigeria, saying citizens are often encouraged to pray over issues that require practical solutions.

However, some social media users defended Alaseyori’s position. @Sanni4islam maintained that prayer remains effective and suggested critics might change their views if faced with a similar situation involving a loved one.

Others accused the singer of overlooking the government’s responsibility to protect citizens. “Prayer can’t do the primary duty of our government,” @SmithRyan321932 wrote.

The criticism comes as outrage continues over the abduction of 46 students and staff members from Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State since May 15, 2026.

One of the kidnapped teachers, Michael Oyedokun, has reportedly been killed by the abductors.

I Cannot Survive Your Death - Afro House Singer Niniola Apata Mourns Her Husband

Afro house singer, Niniola Apata, has continued to mourn the death of her husband, Michael Ndika.

In one of her latest posts shared on Instagram on Thursday, May 28, 2026, Niniola revealed that she was still living in denial over her husband’s death, while expecting him to walk through the door like he never left.

In a lengthy and emotional post, she wrote, “I find myself waiting, expecting Michael to walk through the door… My best friend, my confidant, my pillar, my gossip partner, my laughter, my joy giver, my provider, my business partner, my husband, my brother. He was the air I breathe.

“I can’t survive this… I looked forward to him coming home every time he went out…

“Even in the house, we were always together; he never wanted me to be away from him. Always wanted me to be by his side. I’m naturally a loner, and Michael was all that I needed because he was one in a million… He touched my life in different capacities, and God took him from me.”

Niniola also took to her Instagram story to relive memories of moments she shared with the late Michael. She shared random moments of them having fun together, working, travelling and hanging out with friends.

Recall that Niniola shocked many last week when she made a series of posts revealing that her husband of 13 years had died.

The singer surprised many with the disclosure because several people were unaware that she was married.

“God took him. 13 years. 13 f***ing years,” she wrote in one of the posts.

“My husband died,” she added in a subsequent post.

The late Michael Ndika was Niniola’s longtime manager and the Chief Executive Officer of NaijaReview, a multimedia platform focused on afro house and contemporary African music, before his death.

Nollywood Is Not For Jokers — Ronke Oshodi-Oke

Veteran actress, Ibironke Ojo, popularly known as Ronke Oshodi-Oke, has stressed that discipline, professionalism and consistency remain key to sustaining a successful career in the Nigerian film industry, while also addressing perceptions about younger actors.

Speaking in an interview, the actress said not all young actors are distracted by social media, as is often suggested, noting that many remain deeply committed to their craft.

“It’s not all of them. Most of them are serious. If you are doing something and you are not serious about it, you will face the consequences. We are not joking in Nollywood. If you come and you want to pose, you want to come and play, you will face the consequence. Take Timini, for example; he is a very lovely boy and takes his job very seriously,” she said.

Ojo, who spoke about her role in the film ‘Ajosepo: The Gathering’, said she approaches every character with a strong sense of responsibility and commitment.

“I see each and every role as an opportunity. So when I am acting, it is not me; it is God. When I am acting, I am always in that script. I always want to give the best. It’s mixed feelings,” she said.

Reflecting on her journey in Nollywood, she attributed her longevity in the industry to grace, hard work and consistency, rather than connections or lobbying.

“I don’t do anything; it has been God all the while. How many producers will I call? How many people will I say, ‘please come and give me jobs’? It has just been God, and also hard work. Even if I am given one or two scenes, I take it seriously,” she added.

Ronke Oshodi-Oke’s acting career spans over two decades as a renowned Nollywood actress, director, and producer. Known for her comedic flair, versatility, and commanding screen presence, she transitioned from a local theatre troupe into a celebrated veteran in both the Yoruba and English-speaking sectors of the Nigerian film industry.

Don't Call Me Unfaithful, Prostitute Or Ashewo - Frank Edoho's Estranged Wife, Sandra, Lashes out At Critics

The ongoing marital crisis between veteran broadcaster, Frank Edoho, and his estranged wife, Sandra Onyenucheya, has taken a new twist as Sandra has alleged that her ex-husband subjected her to domestic violence and sold her property without her consent.

Addressing online backlash following their highly publicised separation, she expressed her frustration at being branded unfaithful, stating she has always lived a very private life and never wanted her private affairs subjected to public scrutiny.

Sandra’s outburst came amid her ex-husband’s tagging her as a prostitute following her alleged romance with singer, Chike.

The couple has been in the news in recent times, with Sandra facing heavy criticism on the internet after reports of an alleged extra-marital affair with singer Chike leaked online.

Sandra, who did not deny the cheating allegation, also accused Frank Edoho of being a deadbeat husband and father, and having extramarital affairs with multiple women, including some prominent celebrities.

In a series of posts shared on her Instagram story and titled “Surviving Frank Edoho,” Sandra levelled fresh allegations against her ex-husband, including domestic violence and cheating on her. She shared picture evidence and chats of the ladies he was frolicking with to buttress her claim.

She wrote: “I refuse to be tagged an unfaithful wife, a prostitute, or an ashewo as I have been pegged these past few days.

“He didn’t come as the most eligible bachelor, however, I loved him with all my heart and soul, against the wishes of my family .

“Frank, you must come to equity with clean hands. You must acknowledge and take responsibility to how you led us here. I was constantly humiliated, physically abused and traumatized

“You must acknowledge and take responsibility for how I was constantly humiliated, physically abused and traumatized.

“It’s this social mentality that men and marriage is the price that keeps women in shackles of sadness all in the name of remaining in an unhappy marriage or relationship that saps the life of them.

“As long as I am happy with who I am, that’s all that matters. And if the relationship   doesn’t work out ,   we still move. Women need to hold themselves in higher esteem.

“I have always lived a very private life and I can’t believe that I am here having to explain and expose myself to public scrutiny.

“I have never cared about public perception or opinions and it won’t start now. Nobody even knew me as Frank Edoho’s wife, that’s to show you how much I protected myself in privacy.“

Sandra said she’s returning to what she knows how to do best, designing the most exclusive homes around the world.

Recall that in June 2025, Frank announced the end of his second marriage to Ms Sandra. The couple got married in 2013, while Sandra was expecting their son. They welcomed their first child in 2014 and a second in 2016.

A year later, they held a private white wedding attended by close family members and friends.

Edoho was previously married to TV personality, Katherine Obiang, with whom he had three children. Their marriage ended in 2010 after seven years, following allegations of domestic violence raised by Ms Katherine.

Ice Prince Offers Explanation As Fans Condemn His Performance At APC National Convention

Music artist Ice Prince has addressed criticism over his performance at the 2026 All Progressives Congress, (APC), national convention.

Critics faulted him for appearing at the partisan event amid concerns over insecurity and economic hardship, saying he should demand accountability from the government instead.

Responding on the Black Box podcast, Ice Prince said he performed because of his personal ties to the APC National Chairman, Nentawe Yilwatda.

He clarified that Yilwatda is his uncle and booked him for the event.

“Who booked me for that event? My uncle – Nentawe Yilwatda who is the APC Chairman. He is not just a random person to me. He is my real uncle,” he explained.

Public outcry over hardship in President Bola Tinubu’s administration has been widespread, driven by intense inflation, soaring fuel and transport costs, and worsening insecurity. While the government has defended its policies as necessary to prevent national bankruptcy, citizens and opposition figures argue the reforms have severely worsened living conditions.
