Lagos, MTN To Redevelop Obalende Under-bridge Into Modern Transport Hub

Lagos State Government has collaborated with MTN Nigeria to redevelop and transform the Obalende under-bridge into a modern, well-structured transport hub to be known as Y’ELLO Bus Park.

Commissioner for the Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, confirmed this development in a post shared on his X account on Tuesday,

According to him, this redevelopment will convert what was once a notorious and degraded space into a functional, secure, and community-centred facility. He added that the new bus park will feature an organised and regulated transport terminal, a recycling drop-off station, a road camp for LAWMA sweepers and security agencies, over 60 public toilet fixtures, kiosks, and other essential amenities designed to serve commuters and residents alike.

Wahab maintained that the proposed design will prioritise safety, health, and aesthetics, while solar-powered lighting will improve night-time visibility to reduce blind spots, and enhance CCTV effectiveness, thereby helping to curb criminal activities and improve overall security in the Obalende axis.

He added that a biodigester system is also being introduced to sustainably manage wastewater generated within the park, while a dedicated recycling station will discourage illegal waste disposal in the area.

”In line with our commitment to climate responsibility, the project includes the installation of solar panels to support long-term energy efficiency and reduce carbon footprint. Tree planting is also planned to improve air quality and enhance the visual appeal of the environment.

This project reflects our resolve to reclaim public spaces, make them functional, sustainable, and safe, and ensure they serve the needs of Lagosians in a modern, responsible way. Together, we are building a cleaner, safer, and more resilient Lagos,” he wrote on X.

Government To Clamp Down On Drainage Encroachment In Lekki

The Lagos State government has announced plans to intensify enforcement against drainage encroachment and other environmental infractions in Lekki axis, as part of efforts to mitigate flooding and protect critical water infrastructure.

Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, said this while inspecting ongoing drainage projects and flood-prone areas in Ogombo, Lake Embankment, Ikate, Mobil, Mobil Road, Kusenla and other adjoining communities.

Wahab said the inspection followed intelligence reports on attempts to tamper with major drainage alignments, particularly System 46, warning that any interference could have far-reaching consequences for the Ikota River corridor.

“We received whistleblower information that there was encroachment on System 46. We have decided to install signposts to clearly demarcate the alignment and ensure that no one goes back to reduce or tamper with it, because it will eventually affect the Ikota River,” he said.

At System 44, the commissioner recalled that contraventions had earlier been removed from the drainage alignment two years ago, noting that contractors were still on site. He explained that persistent flooding along Mobil Road was traced to temporary damming of upstream and downstream sections to enable construction works.

“We have directed the contractor to hasten work, so the damned areas can be removed. About 800 metres remain on both the upstream and downstream sections leading to the Ikota River,” he said.

The commissioner added the state government had expanded the scope of the project to include not only drainage construction but also the installation of a pump station to improve flood discharge capacity.

“This is our third visit here. After our earlier inspections, we awarded the job, and due to developments in the area, including the regional road project, we approved additional electro-mechanical works and a pump station to effectively manage flooding,” he added.

Wahab expressed concern over the takeover of wetlands and illegal sand-filling observed along Mobil Road, as well as the emergence of shanties along the Coastal Road corridor.

He said the government would erect signposts to protect wetland alignments and adopt a coordinated approach with the Federal Ministry of Works to address illegal occupation along the Coastal Road, which is a federal asset.

According to him, uncontrolled settlements around conservation areas pose environmental and security risks, adding that open burning observed behind a conservation zone could also threaten wildlife habitats.

On the timeline for completion of projects, Wahab said the drainage works were initially scheduled for 24 months, but the addition of new components could extend the project by about 12 months.

Speaking on the state’s preparedness for the rainy season, the commissioner stressed the reality of climate change, citing persistent rainfall in recent months.

“The rain has not stopped. Anyone who says climate change or global warming is not real is simply denying reality. Our responsibility is to continue advocacy, provide resilient infrastructure and ensure residents take ownership of these facilities,” he said.

He urged residents to refrain from activities that undermine public infrastructure, assuring that the state government would continue to enforce environmental laws to safeguard lives, property and sustainable development.

Key Stakeholders In Power Sector Meet In Lagos To Find Lasting Solutions To Nigeria's Electricity Challenges

Ministers, regulators, and other stakeholders in the power sector will meet in Lagos to discuss solutions to Nigeria’s power challenges.

Smart-grid solutions provider, NOJA Power Australia, will on Tuesday, January 27, host a high-level executive dialogue aimed at strengthening collaboration among states, regulators, distribution companies, and financiers in Nigeria’s electricity sector, as the industry adjusts to the Electricity Act 2023.

According to a statement, the organisers said the event, themed ‘Effective Collaboration Between States, Regulators, and Distribution Companies: A Synergy for Sub-National Energy Security’, will be held in Lagos under the Akinwunmi & Busari LP ‘Let There Be Light’ Series.

About 60 key decision-makers are expected at the closed-door session, including the Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu; the Minister of Finance, Wale Edun; and the Special Adviser to the President on Energy, Mrs Olu Verheijen.

Participants will also be drawn from state energy commissions, electricity regulators, distribution companies, development agencies, and the investment community.

The organisers described the dialogue as a strategic networking and policy engagement forum rather than a conventional conference, designed to promote frank, solution-driven discussions on the evolving structure of Nigeria’s decentralised power market.

With the Electricity Act 2023 empowering states to play a more active role in electricity generation, transmission, and distribution, stakeholders are expected to interrogate emerging challenges such as regulatory overlap, jurisdictional uncertainty, coordination between state institutions and distribution companies, as well as growing concerns among investors around risk and bankability, the statement noted.

The programme will feature opening remarks by senior government officials, followed by a keynote address from NOJA Power, which will share global perspectives on electricity distribution reform, drawing lessons from international markets where decentralisation and grid automation have improved reliability and efficiency.

It was stated that the dialogue will be organised into two executive sessions. The first session, titled ‘Resolving Regulatory Overlap in Nigeria’s Post-Electricity Act 2023 Power Market’, will examine practical frameworks for state–distribution company coexistence.

Panellists include the Lagos State Commissioner for Energy and Mineral Resources, Biodun Ogunleye; the Ondo State Commissioner for Energy and Mineral Resources, Johnson Alabi; the Managing Director of the Nigerian Independent System Operator, Abdu Bello Mohammed; the Managing Director of Kano Electricity Distribution Plc, Dr Abubakar Jimeta; and the Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission, Musiliu Oseni.

The session will be moderated by Mr Chukwubuike Nnaeto. The second session will focus on financing power sector reforms, with the theme ‘De-risking Power Infrastructure Investments Under the Electricity Act: The Lender’s Perspective’.

It will bring together representatives of major institutional investors and public finance bodies, including the Head of Investment at the National Pension Commission, Mr Abdulqadir Dahiru; the Executive Director, Investment, Ministry of Finance, Mr Olufemi Ogunseinde; the Executive Director, Corporate Finance, Bank of Industry, Mr Rotimi Akinde; the Chairman of Stanbic IBTC Pension Managers and Stanbic Pensions, Dr Demola Shogunle; and the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Rural Electrification Agency, Dr Abba Aliyu.

The organisers noted that the closed-door nature of the forum was deliberate, to encourage open engagement and shared accountability among policymakers, regulators, operators, and financiers.

“Successful electricity reform requires a unified approach where regulation, investment, and operations work in concert. This dialogue is a vital step towards aligning policy intentions, regulatory practices, and investment realities so that reforms translate into tangible improvements for businesses and communities,” the statement added.

How Chemical Facility Exploded In Amuwo-Odofin Industrial Estate, Causing Large Expanse Of Fire

Chemical materials stored at an industrial facility caused the large-scale fire that was reported along Alaba Suru, Badagry Expressway, Lagos, on Saturday evening, a preliminary report by the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency has revealed

The fire, which broke out at about 7:25 pm, occurred at a warehouse and chemical blending and storage site located within a larger industrial cluster.

In a Sunday statement signed by the Permanent Secretary of LASEMA, Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, the agency said the blaze rapidly spread across an estimated 15,000 square metres of the facility, involving stored chemical materials.

“The affected facility is a warehouse and chemical blending and storage site. The fire rapidly spread across an estimated 15,000sqm, involving stored chemical materials. The intensity of the incident led to intermittent explosions for several hours,” the statement said.

LASEMA said the explosions created panic and posed a significant threat to adjoining facilities and residents within the surrounding community.

According to the agency, the fire was eventually contained through a coordinated response involving the LASEMA Response Unit, Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, the Federal Fire Service, and private fire assets from Veepee.

Damping-down operations have since commenced, with emergency responders maintaining positions to prevent re-ignition and safeguard nearby facilities.

Operationally, LASEMA explained that firefighting efforts were executed from both the front and rear access points of the facility.

“The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service led suppression efforts from the main entrance, while LASEMA Fire provided support from the rear,” the statement noted.

The agency also acknowledged the support of beverage company Lacasera, which assisted with water replenishment to sustain firefighting operations.

Preliminary observations by emergency responders identified several risk factors that may have contributed to the scale and intensity of the fire.

“These include a high volume of volatile chemical storage within a confined space, inadequate ventilation within the warehouse facility, and insufficient emergency preparedness measures to manage a fire of this magnitude,” LASEMA said.

The agency added that further investigations were ongoing to determine the immediate trigger of the fire outbreak.

Accident On Eko Bridge Leaves Driver Seriously Injured, Causing Heavy Traffic

An accident involving two vehicles on the Eko Bridge, has left the driver of one of the vehicles seriously injured. The collision, which happened on Sunday morning, also caused heavy traffic congestion along the corridor.

The accident occurred around 6 a.m. on the inward lane of the bridge towards NEPA, and involved a truck and a white car. The impact of the collision caused the car to overturn, leaving its driver injured.

The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) confirmed the incident on its official X handle, saying emergency responders were immediately deployed to the scene. The injured driver was promptly evacuated and taken to a nearby hospital for medical attention.

LASTMA stated, “An accident involving two vehicles occurred on Eko Bridge inward NEPA, prompting the deployment of tow trucks. LASTMA personnel and officers from the Ebute Ero Divisional Police Station are currently managing the situation. The driver has been swiftly rushed to the hospital for treatment.”

The agency added that traffic was temporarily reduced to a single lane, resulting in slow movement and a backlog extending to the Offin Canal axis.

In a later update, LASTMA confirmed that the affected vehicles have been successfully evacuated from the location.

Does Female Orgasm During Ovulation Aid Or Hinder Conception?

Article By John Preston Parry

Most women want their partners to take them to the peak of sexual satisfaction during intercourse and the climax of this is orgasm. But, for most couples wanting to have a baby, the issue of female orgasm, especially during the critical period of ovulation, has become a topical one in recent times. On the one hand is the school of thoughts that believe female orgasm aids conception because the sperms would find it easier to swim into the fallopian tubes  to fertilize the egg. However, a contrary argument is that, since a woman’s release is acidic by nature and the male sperm is alkaline, all the sperms would be destroyed before they even get to the uterus.

So, what is the true position? Does female orgasm aid or hinder conception?  What role does female orgasm play in conception? According to John Preston Parry, a specialist with  Positive Steps Fertility , this is a question many women and couples, wanting to conceive, usually ask fertility specialists. Female orgasm during ovulation is a topic shrouded in both mystery and misinformation, blending the lines between scientific fact and age-old myths.

Understanding conception, a process deeply rooted in biology and physiology, requires experts in the field to not only explore these questions but also to demystify the nuances surrounding them.

Understanding The Female Orgasm

To demystify the role of female orgasm in conception, we first need to understand what it is. The female orgasm is a complex, multifaceted experience, encompassing both physiological and psychological elements. Physiologically, it is characterized by rhythmic contractions of the pelvic muscles, along with increased heart rate, blood pressure, and often a heightened sense of pleasure. These contractions are thought to aid in the movement of sperm through the cervix, potentially influencing conception.

From a psychological standpoint, the orgasm is a deeply personal and varied experience. It can range from intensely pleasurable to subtle, and for some, it may be elusive. This variability is completely normal, reflecting the diverse nature of female sexual experience.

Misconceptions About Female Orgasm

Despite its commonality, there are numerous misconceptions about female orgasm. One of the most prevalent is the notion that orgasm is necessary for conception. This is a myth. While the experience can enhance the intimate and emotional aspects of a sexual relationship, it is not a prerequisite for conception. Many women conceive without experiencing orgasm during the act of intercourse.

Another common misconception is the belief that all women experience orgasm in the same way. In reality, the experience is highly individualistic, influenced by a myriad of factors including physical health, emotional state, and the nature of the sexual activity.

Understanding these aspects of female orgasm is crucial in comprehending its potential role in fertility and conception. The journey through the realms of conception and fertility is complex, and female orgasm is just one of the many facets that contribute to our understanding of the fertility process.

The Biological Perspective Of Conception

Understanding conception from a biological standpoint is essential in unraveling the mysteries of fertility. Conception is the process that begins with the fertilization of an egg (ovum) by a sperm, leading to the formation of an embryo. This intricate process starts with ovulation, the release of a mature egg from the ovary. Once released, the egg travels down the fallopian tube, where it may meet sperm for potential fertilization.

Several factors influence the likelihood of conception. Key among them is sperm quality , which encompasses sperm count, mobility, etc. High-quality sperm increases the chances of successful fertilization. Equally important is the timing of intercourse relative to ovulation. Fertilization is most likely when intercourse occurs close to the time of ovulation, as the egg remains viable for a limited period post-ovulation.

The female reproductive system plays a critical role in this process. It includes the ovaries, which produce eggs; the fallopian tubes, where fertilization occurs; the uterus, where the fertilized egg implants and grows; and the cervix and vagina, which form the passage for sperm entry. The hormonal interplay governing this system is intricate, with estrogen and progesterone playing vital roles in regulating ovulation and preparing the uterus for potential pregnancy.

Historical Views on Female Orgasm And Fertility

Historically, the perceived role of female orgasm in fertility has undergone significant shifts. In ancient times, certain cultures believed that female orgasm was necessary for conception. This belief stemmed from the notion that orgasm in both partners was essential for the ‘mingling’ of male and female ‘essences’ or fluids, considered crucial for procreation.

As medical science progressed, especially in the 18th and 19th centuries, these views began to change. The advent of more scientific understandings of human anatomy and reproduction led to the dismissal of some earlier beliefs. By the late 19th and early 20th centuries, the role of female orgasm in conception was largely downplayed in medical literature, with the focus shifting more towards the physiological aspects of sperm transport and egg fertilization.

The 20th century brought further shifts in perspective, influenced by psychoanalytic theories and a deeper understanding of human sexuality. While modern science recognizes the non-essential role of female orgasm in the mechanical process of conception, there is growing acknowledgment of its potential indirect benefits. These include the possible facilitation of sperm transport and the enhancement of the overall sexual experience, which could positively affect fertility indirectly by promoting regular sexual activity.

As we continue to explore the interplay of sexuality and fertility, it’s important to acknowledge how our understanding has evolved and continues to evolve, shaped by both scientific discoveries and societal attitudes towards sexuality and reproduction.

Current Scientific Findings

Recent studies have painted a complex picture regarding the role of female orgasm in conception. While some research suggests that contractions associated with orgasm may help ‘suck’ sperm up the cervix and into the uterus, increasing the chances of fertilization, other studies find no significant correlation between orgasm and increased fertility.

The challenge in these studies often lies in the variability of sexual experiences and the difficulty in isolating variables in human reproductive behavior.

A study conducted in the 1950s by American sex-education pioneers William Masters and Virginia Johnson used dyed artificial semen and X-ray technology to investigate the “upsuck theory.” This theory hypothesized that uterine contractions during an orgasm help propel semen into the vaginal canal, thus aiding conception.

Their experiment debunked this theory, showing no evidence of increased semen retention during orgasm. This research, along with other studies, suggests that while orgasms might not directly impact conception, factors like the release of oxytocin during orgasm, which can decrease stress and increase feelings of intimacy, might have indirect benefits for conception.

The evidence remains inconclusive. Some researchers argue that while orgasm may not directly influence conception, it could play a role in sperm retention, potentially increasing the likelihood of conception. However, it’s important to note that many women conceive without experiencing orgasm during intercourse, indicating that it is not a requirement for successful fertilization.

The Role Of Female Orgasm In Fertility Treatments

In the realm of fertility treatments, the role of female orgasm is viewed more as a component of overall sexual health rather than a direct factor in treatment efficacy. Fertility specialists acknowledge that while orgasm may not significantly impact the success rates of treatments like IVF (In Vitro Fertilization) or IUI (Intrauterine Insemination), the sexual satisfaction and emotional well-being it brings can be beneficial.

A positive sexual experience, including orgasm, can reduce stress and enhance intimacy between partners during fertility treatments. Thus, while the physiological impact of orgasm on these treatments may be limited, its role in maintaining a healthy relationship and emotional state cannot be overlooked.

Psychological And Emotional Considerations

Focusing heavily on the attainment of orgasm for conception can lead to added stress and pressure, which can be counterproductive. It’s important for couples to understand that conception is a multifaceted process, influenced by a variety of factors, and reducing it to a single element like orgasm can lead to unnecessary frustration and anxiety.

Adopting a holistic approach to fertility is crucial. This involves understanding the interplay of physical, emotional, and psychological health. Couples are encouraged to focus on overall well-being, intimacy, and mutual support, rather than fixating on specific aspects of sexual activity. Obviously, having a fertility specialist guiding you through the complexity of conception and treatments is essential to have as well.

Summary

There is no direct relationship between the female orgasm and conception

While the female orgasm remains an area of interest in the context of conception, current scientific evidence does not support a direct, essential role in increasing conception likelihood. It is one of many components of the complex dance of human reproduction.

The consensus in the medical community is to view the female orgasm as a part of the broader sexual and emotional experience of couples rather than a clinical tool for enhancing fertility. For couples trying to conceive, the recommendation is to maintain a balanced perspective, focusing on overall health, emotional connection, and enjoying the journey towards parenthood, rather than fixating on specific aspects of their sexual encounters.

Stop Sending Me Marriage Proposals, I Am Single But Not Searching - Nollywood Actress Nkechi Blessing Tells Fans

Nollywood actress Nkechi Blessing Sunday has decried what she described as an overwhelming influx of marriage proposals and unsolicited messages following the apparent exposure of her phone number online.

The actress, in a video shared on Instagram, explained that her Facebook account—linked to her phone number—has triggered a daily flood of messages from strangers. According to her, she now wakes up to thousands of messages from men of different ages and locations, many of whom introduce themselves, question her relationship status, and express interest in marrying her.

She added that the situation has spilled into her WhatsApp, leaving her inbox in disarray with more than 5,000 unread messages.

Nkechi expressed frustration over her inability to stop the messages, noting that all attempts to remove or change her contact details on Facebook have been unsuccessful.

“This number they are calling me on is a number that I cannot change. My WhatsApp is a mess. I have over 5,000 messages from different types of men on Facebook and on my WhatsApp. I am tired. How many be my body wey over 5,000 men wan marry me at the same time?” she said.

While confirming that she is single and a mother, the 36-year-old actress stressed that she is not looking for a relationship.

“Please, I need help on how to remove my phone number from Facebook,” she appealed. “I don’t know which video trended online. Please, I am single, but I am not searching. Stop texting my number.”

If You Don't Take Off My Father's Tattoo On Your Hand, You Will Never Make Progress With That Hand Anymore - Seun Kuti Warns Wizkid

While different parties have waded into the social media showdown, a ceasefire appears to be far from the horizon.

Seun Kuti is not buying anything any peacemaker is trying to sell to him, and neither are Wizkid FC (fans), who seem to be getting a kick out of the round-robin of exchanges.

For those who are of the opinion that Wizkid having Fela’s tattoo on his body is enough proof that he respects and venerates the late Afrobeat icon, Seun has a caustic response for them and the Grammy winner, which he made public in a video on his Instagram page.

“What I want to happen has finally happened. Your game of replacing Fela has been stopped. Your infiltration of my family has been stopped, and nobody in the world will ever take you seriously when you try to leech off that legacy again,” he said, addressing the Ojuelegba crooner.

“And my father’s tattoo on your hand—if you don’t take it off, you will never make any progress with that hand again. You should better replace that tattoo with your father’s face. If Burna Boy could come out and say Fela is greater, who is this short man?” he added.

The fight is not being fought by Seun alone; some of his siblings and other family members have issued stern warnings to Big Wiz.

In the midst of the whole brouhaha, Wizkid has released his long-awaited documentary titled Long Live Lagos, which premiered on HBO a couple of days ago.

Meanwhile, comedian and actor Stanley Chibunna, popularly known as Funnybone, has weighed in on the ongoing online controversy involving Afrobeat singer Seun Kuti and fans of Wizkid, cautioning Seun against engaging in debates he says diminish the legacy of his late father, Fela Anikulapo-Kuti.

Funnybone made his remarks in a video shared on his Instagram page earlier in the week, reacting to the heated exchanges that followed claims by some Wizkid fans that the Grammy-winning star is “bigger” than Fela.

The online debate later escalated into a direct clash between Seun Kuti and Wizkid, after Wizkid responded to Seun via his Instagram Stories and on X (formerly Twitter).

Addressing Seun, Funnybone argued that Fela’s legacy is too monumental to require online defence or comparison with contemporary artists.

“The honour is to uphold Fela’s legacy, and part of it is choosing conversations and comparisons you would delve into,” Funnybone said. “When you delve into it, it is no longer you trying to defend the man; you are now demystifying the man’s legacy.”

According to him, engaging with fan bases—particularly younger fans who were not alive during Fela’s lifetime—only weakens the cultural weight and historical significance of the Afrobeat pioneer.

“His legacy is so big that he doesn’t need you or anybody to defend it,” he stated. “Most Wizkid FC people were not born when Fela was alive. When you dabble into an argument with them, you are not defending the legacy; you are watering down the potency of the legacy.”

Funnybone further stressed that Fela’s place in history is already secure, insisting that the late musician does not require validation, advocacy, or comparison in the digital space.

“Fela doesn’t need marketing. Baba doesn’t need a lawyer. Baba doesn’t need an activist online to defend him. Baba na Baba,” he said.

Using a metaphor, the comedian warned about the consequences of elders engaging in trivial disputes, adding that constant commentary can erode one’s stature.

“When an elder begins to play with children in the sand, dirt will touch his body,” Funnybone concluded. “The moment you start having an opinion on everything, it diminishes your value.”

The Wizkid–Fela comparison has continued to divide opinions online, with many cultural commentators arguing that both artistes belong to different eras and serve different cultural purposes, making direct comparisons unnecessary.

My Wife And I Have Not Welcomed Any First Child - Mr Eazi Debunks Rumours

Afrobeats singer Oluwatosin Ajibade popularly known as Mr Eazi, has humorously dismissed viral rumours claiming he and his wife, Temi Otedola, recently welcomed their first child.

The speculation began when social media influencer Kolaqhazim shared an apparent AI-generated image of Temi holding a newborn on X, announcing that the couple had welcomed a baby girl after their eight-year relationship.

The post quickly gained traction, prompting a wave of congratulatory messages from excited fans in the comments section.

Mr Eazi shut down the false claim with a witty response, questioning the post by asking if his wife was even aware of the supposed birth, “Is Temi aware of this?”

Temi Otedola, who is the daughter of billionaire businessman Femi Otedola, tied the knot in elaborate ceremonies held in Monaco, Dubai, and Iceland last year.

No official announcements regarding pregnancy or childbirth have come from either Mr Eazi or Temi Otedola.

The Price I Had To Pay For Success - Billionaire Actress/Producer Funke Akindele

Nigerian billionaire actress, Funke Akindele has opened up on the price she had to pay for the success she now enjoys in her craft.

In a recent chat, Akindele expressed that she deprived herself of many things to achieve the success she enjoys today.

The 48-year-old mother of two confessed to depriving herself of social gatherings, events, vacations and other activities to achieve the success she enjoys with her brand. She further said she locked herself away inside Amen Estate for three years to build her brand and several contents, which are now her source of pride.

“Hard work is hard work. You work hard, putting in the work when you need to, depriving yourself of things many will go after so as to achieve the success you are aiming for. When I say hard work, I mean locking myself away in Amen Estate for three years building the Jenifa brand, working on Industreet, Aiyetoro, My siblings and I, and other content. I deprived myself of vacations, parties, events, no friends, nothing, just me and my team, working tirelessly, creating and working hard to achieve the success many now see. So, when I say putting in the hard work, I don’t just say that carelessly, I mean putting in the real hard work.

Continuing, she said, “When I am on the set of my films, I am not a diva, I am everywhere and very hands-on, no wig, just on my rough corn rows, working hard and seeing that everything is in perfect order. I go through all that till work is done, and then we can now start preparing for marketing and all the glam and dancing. So, it’s hard work that turns into success.”

Funke Akindele broke her own record of producing the first Nigerian film to gross over one billion in the cinemas in 2024 and has gone ahead to produce the first Nigerian film to gross over two billion in the cinemas.
